There are many changes to the original Fishing Smarter, and heaps of additional material. I have completely updated all the illustrations, & there are many new diagrams.
Some changes are simply updates brought about by changes in the technology & equipment. Other changes are in the way I tried to originally present my ideas -- every writer, I think, has many "I wish I had written that better feelings" moments after their book hits retailers' shelves.
There is plenty of new material too - new stuff that pops up continually in the fishing world as fishermen share their knowledge. I have tried to separate the current "fads" from the things that will have longer-term benefits in increasing catch rates, and separate marketing hype from the truly useful, (much easier now that I am no longer in the tackle business!).
If you are one of those who still believes that luck plays a major part in the success or otherwise of any fishing trip, I hope to persuade you that if you continue to believe in luck, your catch numbers & sizes have very little chance of increasing.
But if you want to catch more fish, more often, much more consistently, take as much luck as possible out of your fishing equation & replace it with knowdege of fish & their behaviour and you will make your own luck!"
