Stream ecologist & fisheries biologist with 20+ years experience writes with authority. Offers a brief, but packed, sermon on fly-fishing in streams, using smallmouth bass as an example & drifting huge nymphs as the way to catch them. 138 pgs.

'Stream biologist Tertuliani applies scientific principles to dispel common beliefs about smallmouth bass & streams & helps you catch bigger fish than ever before. These principles also apply to trophy trout.

Books on fly-fishing have been around long enough for the serious angler to read it all before. Then comes a book different from the rest. A book that deserves a look, a text that is not like the typical scenario, a book that every serious angler must have before the short run is out of print.

Smallmouth Bass & Streams: Thoughts on Fly-Fishing, is the text you will not find on retail shelves. The intent of a small run was not a get rich scheme...far from it! The author grew tired of looking at the same old material with newer pictures, material that was more rewording of over-rated information, outdated, and at time inaccurate, information (which is the content of many books).

Much of the information applies to trout. And, if you fish in streams with spinning & baitcasting tackle, 9 of the 11 chapters apply to you as well. The chapter on crayfish versus hellgrammites alone is worth the price of the book.
