A collection of wise and touching memories of a season on the water and a lifetime of fishing, told by a master storyteller. Lyrical reminiscence of a magical autumn of fishing and a lifetime love affair with rivers. Witty, knowledgeable, good writing. 6x9 inches, 96 pgs.
'That autumn, I went a little crazy for rivers, and this charming little volume captures the essence of an admittedly insidious obsession. To some, the recollections here will betray that the author is, indeed, crazy. But to anyone who remembers the unending patience of a grandfather on a lake, or the romance of a mountain getaway with a girlfriend who has since become a wife; to anyone who can recall each fish caught on days that were too hot, or way too cold, or on rivers too crowded or in canyons too steep; to anyone who has appreciated the trust of an age-old fishing partner, or the trust of a complete stranger sharing a special hole . . . to anyone, in fact, who has ever felt a little crazy for rivers, Bill Barich's wonderful memories of a season of rivers and a lifetime of fishing will not seem crazy at all.
