Hickox starts by emphasizing the importance of live birds in developing a bold, confident pup that is eager to search the field. This is followed by an introduction to retrieving, introduction to gunshot, and training with electronics. Advanced topics include hunting in range, steadiness to flush and shot, and advanced retrieving drills.
Pheasants and Labs is loaded with training tips. An additional bonus is a section on the finer points of pheasant shooting from shotgunning expert Michael McIntosh. Finally, the video addresses nutrition for the hard-working dog.
