ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Des Pawson has studied knots & ropework since he was given a book of knots at the age of seven. For over 25 years, he has run a ropeworking business that covers all aspects of tying knots. He also teaches and displays his skills at exhibitions, boatshows, galleries, and museums in the U.S. and UK. He has appeared on radio & TV, and his work has been featured in a number of publications including The Boatman, Practical Boatowner, Classic Boat, Knotting Matters, Country Living, Sailing Today, and the Financial Times.
In 1982 Des Pawson cofounded the International Guild of Knot Tyers. In 1996 he opened his own museum celebrating the world of knots & rope.
