'Recently discovered and never previously published, these memorable tales were probably intended for the 2nd volume of The Stolen Years, covering, as they do, Falkus' life (and his amazing narrow escapes from death) in the RAF, right up to his later days, hunting & fishing from his beloved Cragg Cottage.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Hugh Falkus has written some fine books like Sea Trout Fishing, Salmon Fishing and The Stolen Years. Hugh's plan was that The Stolen Years was to have been the first in a trilogy of books covering his whole life. He worked on the manuscript for the second book from time to time but did not pursue it according to that original plan. Sadly, the books never materialised and the manuscript was put to one side and largely forgotten.
Some of it was Fun is certainly part, if not all, of that 'lost' manuscript. The discovery of this text by Anthony Desbruslais gives us all the chance to enjoy a previously unpublished selection of Falkus's writing when we thought there would be no more.
