ABOUT THE AUTHOR Christopher Camuto is also the author of Hunting from Home: A Year Afield, forthcoming from W. W. Norton. He has written for a wide range of publications, including Field & Stream, Fly Fisherman, Sports Afield, and Sierra. He is the book review columnist for Audubonand Gray's Sporting Journal and writes the "Watersheds" column for Trout Unlimited's Trout magazine.
His magazine columns reach nearly a million readers. He also writes environmental opinion columns that reach up to 8 million potential newspaper readers in the Southeast through Blue Ridge Press.
Camuto has taught as a writer-in-residence and a visiting professor of American Literature at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He has also taught at the University of Virginia and continues to lecture widely at educational institutions across the South.
He is a consultant for the Southern Environmental Law Center, the Southern Appalachian Forest Coalition, The Wilderness Society and other groups that advocate environmental protection.
Camuto was a resident of Albemarle County (near Charlottesville) when he wrote A Fly Fisherman's Blue Ridge and now lives in Rockbridge County (near Roanoke).
