ABOUT THE AUTHORS:
Ned Smith created hundreds of paintings and drawings for the Pennsylvania Game Commission, including those that illustrated his popular Game News column "Gone for the Day." His work also has appeared in Sports Afield, National Wildlife, Field & Stream, and other publications. The Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art in Millersburg is now home to much of his original artwork.
Scott Weidensaul has written numerous books on wildlife and the outdoors, including The Wildlife Art of Ned Smith (0-8117-0063-1), Return to Wild America (0-86547-688-8), The Ghost with Trembling Wings (0-374-24664-5), and Living on the Wind (0-86547-591-1), a Pulitzer Prize finalist. He is a founding member of the Ned Smith Center and lives in the Appalachian Mountains of central Pennsylvania.
